In providing an extra layer of protection against the spread of COVID-19 as well as for the safety and wellbeing of all passengers and staff, from 1 June 2020, all passengers flying across the Rex network will be required to wear a face mask.

Passengers are encouraged to bring their own mask. Alternatively, masks will be available for purchase for $2.00 at all check-in desks. The mask must cover the nose and mouth area and are to be worn at the Rex check-in counters (or worn immediately after purchasing from a check-in counter), at boarding gates, during tarmac transfer both at boarding and disembarkation (including via bus), and whilst on-board the aircraft. Passengers must ensure that masks are a snug but comfortable fit and are adequately secured.

Exemptions apply for passengers who have a disability or pre-existing medical condition which may prevent them from being able to wear a face mask, such as breathing difficulties or passenger requiring oxygen.

The use of face masks is in addition to previous proactive measure implemented by Rex in March this year that involves all passengers undertaking a body temperature test at check-in.

All passengers are expected to adhere with these advance safety precautions and Rex reserves the right to deny carriage for failure to comply with these requirements.
